What is included in Male Health Bloods?
Male Health Bloods can include a mix of tests tailored to your needs, such as general blood screening, diabetic screening, heart health profiles, iron and kidney function, hormone testing (including testosterone and male hormone panels), PSA / prostate tests, nutritional panels, stress hormones and “tired all the time” investigations. The exact combination will depend on your symptoms and what you want to check.
Do I need to fast before my Male Health Bloods appointment?
Some Male Health Bloods do require fasting, especially diabetic screening, general blood screening, heart health, certain nutritional tests, Omega-3 Index, the Male Hormone Testing panel and the “tired all the time” panel. Others, such as inflammation tests, iron levels, thyroid function, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, PSA and stress tests, may not require fasting. Full instructions are provided with your booking, and if you are unsure, please contact us and we will advise you.
Can Male Health Bloods help with symptoms like low energy, low libido or mood changes?
Yes. Male Health Bloods can help investigate common symptoms such as fatigue, low energy, reduced libido, erectile concerns, weight gain, low mood, poor concentration or reduced performance. By checking areas such as diabetes risk, cholesterol, iron, thyroid function, testosterone and other hormones, nutritional status and stress markers, we can help identify potential contributors to how you are feeling.
Do you offer prostate (PSA) testing as part of Male Health Bloods?
Yes. We provide both a PSA profile and a standard PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test. These can be very useful for men who want to monitor prostate health, particularly from age 45–50 onwards or where there is a family history of prostate cancer. PSA levels can be raised for reasons other than cancer, so results should always be discussed with your GP.
Will my results be shared with my GP, and how quickly will I receive them?
Most Male Health Bloods results are available within 48 hours, with some specialised tests taking a little longer. Your results are sent directly to you, and with your permission, we can also forward them to your GP, Consultant or other clinic. We encourage you to review your results with your GP to plan any follow-up or treatment if needed.
Do you provide interpretation of my blood test results?
The laboratory we partner with will include a full interpretation and scale of your results, which is emailed directly to you. As we do not offer additional interpretation or follow-up medical advice, we recommend consulting your GP, Consultant or clinic if you have any concerns or require further guidance.
